The CV Zine Fest was a student-produced festival created for the entire community of Southbay. Our class collaborated with MCASD and The Gathering Grounds in order to create three exhibitions to showcase our work. In the beginning, we each chose social topics that we felt passionately about and then formed groups based on their similarity. From that point, we combined our ideas to find the best flow for our zine and created a cover that represented our topics collectively.
Along with this, we reached out to social advocates who helped us learn more about our topic. We highlighted them by creating stencils and collages that represented what they believe in.
We produced the Chula Vista Zine Fest where we sold our work and spoke to members of the community.

While learning about topics that interested us the most, we also reached out to people who advocated for the same thing our issue was about.
