What expectations did you have of biology or environmental science at the start of the year?
I was not the most excited about biology because I felt like it was just going to be a load of work that I would not want to do because it has nothing to do with my interest. I was totally wrong. This class is biology taught through an art perspective which is absolutely perfect for me. I was learning about many things I did not know about the human system while bettering myself in art at the same time.
Describe a memorable moment when your perspective of what it means to be a scientist changed or was challenged?
A memorable moment for me that changed my perspective on it was when we did our 'Zoom' activity at the beginning of the year. We went outside with a framing device and had to draw something through the lens of it. I was very confused on why we were doing this if we were supposed to be learning about more science related things and not drawing. Once we all discussed, we talked about what it had to do with science and how creativity plays a huge role in doing so.
How have you evolved as a scientist?
I have learned about both the scientific and creative process in science and have used both to better myself as a scientist.
