This week we all juniors went up to northern California to see the different types of colleges they have to offer up there. We visited Cal Poly SLO, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State, and Berkeley. After visiting each college, nothing at each of them stood out. The only one that I liked a little was Cal Poly SLO because of the campus. It was more modern which I liked and didn’t seem so dead like the other campuses felt to me. Also none of the schools had the programs that I am interested in. They were all more for business or engineering. I want to go to an art school so these schools are from from that. I am also more of a city person and these schools to me felt like they were in the middle of nowhere. I forgot to talk about the way up there. We took a bus all the way up to Berkeley overnight which took nine hours. We were supposed to get sleep on the bus ride, but for me it seemed to be impossible. I listened to music for about thirty minutes when we left our High Tech campus and then started watching mean girls which lasted about two hours since they played it on the bus. After it ended I decided to try to sleep. As I said it was impossible. I spent the rest of the seven hours just trying to get in a comfortable position. I finally decided to just keep my eyes shut for the remaining time to hope to get at least some sleep but when it opened my eyes about ten minutes later, the sun was rising. The ride back was about the same way. Overall the trip without the bus was enjoyable. I got to bond more with lot’s of people I usually don’t talk with.
