My internship is going to be at the San Diego Art Institute. I am a person that is very into art. I feel because of this, I will enjoy what I am doing and be able to offer a lot of skills to whatever I am doing. Since this is a real job site and not a school site like I am used to, I will have to apply non-academic skills. Some of these skills that I have include photoshop which I know is needed at my site, talking skills, and more. I bring up talking skills because I at my site I will be meeting lots of new people and building relationships with them. Photoshop is a skill that I have but that I can improve on. I know a lot about it but can sometimes still struggle on it. I know at my site I will be able to improve this. Also with my talking skill, I plan to build relationships like I said. I want to be able to build relationships that could get me a letter of recommendation in the future. During the duration of them time that I will be at my internship, I have to do a project. Since I want to better myself at photoshop, I plan to do my project along something with that. I don’t have any specific idea as of this moment because I don’t know exactly what I will be doing at my site yet, but once I know, then I will figure out what I could do for my project. In my interview, my mentor talked about an application that they use called “InDesign”. I have heard of it before but have never looked at it or touched it. This is an application that they will be having me use quite often. In my interview I said that I have never used it but that I am fast learner. So I am going to have to teach myself how to use InDesign and most likely create a project out of that rather than photoshop. Right now I know absolutely nothing about what it is, so my plan is to learn everything I can about it by myself and then create something out of it. Other than that, I just want to build relationships with the people working there around me so I can possibly get a letter of recommendation in the future. Leave a Reply. |
